AI's private market momentum is carrying into the public markets. Anthropic is lining up a November IPO and Nscale filed for a NYSE listing at a reported $35B. The broader tape is busier than it looks — 35 US IPOs priced last week alone — but almost none were venture-backed tech, which is why the headline count says less about exit liquidity than the two names above. At the same time, capital continues to move into the infrastructure powering AI, from Watney's $80M raise for data-center robotics to billions in passive flows around SpaceX. Goodfin is in the middle of it this week. We're in Jackson Hole for the 2026 QSBS Summit, with SF and LA Tech Week next on the calendar. Let’s dive in.

ON THE ROAD

Sep 23 - Dirty Jobs 2026: The Physical AI Summit

We're in San Francisco for Dirty Jobs 2026, a gathering of founders, funds, and operators building Physical AI — robotics, manufacturing, logistics, energy, and defense. We’ll learn more about the models powering real-world systems, the application layer being built on top of them, and where capital is moving in the sectors the software era skipped.

Sep 23-25 - QSBS Summit

We’re in Jackson Hole for the 2026 QSBS Summit, bringing together founders, investors, advisors, and practitioners focused on getting more out of Qualified Small Business Stock. We look forward to conversations around advanced QSBS planning, founder strategies, deal structuring, and navigating liquidity without losing the benefit.

ON THE CALENDAR: TECH WEEK BY a16z

CRACKED Breakfast: Fireside & AMA for Founders
October 8 | 8:30am PT | San Francisco | SF Tech Week

Goodfin and Viraj Ala, Silicon Valley’s Chief Cracked Officer, are bringing a curated group of founders and builders together for a candid fireside chat and AMA with Nico Bonatsos, Founder & Managing Director, Verdict Capital, and Pramod Sharma, CEO & Founder, Napkin AI. Come for the alpha, stay for the network, and leave with a special founder package of a QSBS diagnostic, founder content session with Viraj Ala Media, and more. Limited capacity. Request to join today.

Mission Critical: AI x Aerospace + Defense
Oct 14 | 3:00–7:00 PM PT | El Segundo | LA Tech Week

Goodfin is partnering with AI LA and THE BR-DGE x DTI to convene leaders across AI, aerospace, defense, government and venture to dig into how AI moves from prototype to deployment in mission-critical systems. The stage is being set for conversations around autonomy, advanced manufacturing, government procurement, dual-use tech and the capital behind the sector. Join us to access the inner workings of what it takes to lead, build, and invest in next gen infrastructure.

IN THE REARVIEW

Back where it all started: Y Combinator Demo Day

The Goodfin team was on the ground at Y Combinator’s Summer 2026 Demo Day.

Our biggest takeaway: AI is continuing to expand beyond the screen. This batch saw a notable rise in physical AI, robotics, manufacturing, defense and energy, with industrial companies representing roughly 23% of the batch, up from about 13% in the prior cohort. At the same time, the agent ecosystem appears to be maturing: founders are increasingly building the infrastructure powering agents.

As a YC-backed company ourselves, Demo Day is always a full-circle moment—and one of our favorite places to get an early look at where founders and early stage investors are pushing technology next. We also sat down with several S26 founders for rapid-fire 1:1 conversations about what they’re building, why now, and where they think the future is headed. Follow our @getgoodfin instagram for those convos.

FROM GOODFIN’S AI AGENT

The signal that matters surfaced for you. Here's what our AI pulled from the noise this week:

1. Anthropic pushes its IPO to November — $65B annualized revenue, $2T valuation in play. The Wall Street Journal reported September 18th that advisors believe the extra time lets Anthropic market on third-quarter results. Annualized revenue topped $65 billion as of late July, more than seven times the roughly $9 billion at the end of last year, with a path to $100–120 billion by year-end. Delaying to show more numbers is a different move from delaying to hide from the tape. When it prices, private markets get their first public comparable for a frontier-AI company. Read More

2.Nscale files for a NYSE listing at up to $35B — a $103B contracted backlog, more than double its March valuation. The Nvidia-backed AI data center operator is seeking to raise as much as $3 billion under the ticker NSCL, with Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley leading. Contracted total value hit $103.4 billion as of August 31st, up from $38 billion at the end of 2025, with Microsoft and Anthropic accounting for up to $88.4 billion of it. Revenue reached $140.6 million for the first half of 2026 against $10.4 million a year earlier, and Nvidia put in $3.1 billion on September 15 via convertible notes. The company was valued at $14.6 billion in March. Read More

3. 35 US IPOs priced in a single week — the strongest listing year since 2021. The week of September 14–18 was part of a 2026 pace of 239 IPOs and 331 filings. The same stretch featured Bamboo Insurance targeting up to $700M in New York, BASF advancing a Frankfurt listing, and RoboTechnik's $800M Hong Kong secondary. Revolut's Nik Storonsky confirmed the bank is weighing a London–New York dual listing. Exit windows don't creep open. They open in weeks that look like this one. Read More

4. Watney raises $80M to run robots inside Meta's data centers — 99.99% uptime, 80% of some roles addressable. Co-led by Valor's Atreides AI Fund and Hummingbird, with Conviction, Abstract and A* following on, taking total funding past $100 million for a company founded in 2023. Meta has been testing dual-armed Watney robots on cabling at its Altoona, Iowa campus since June of last year, with trials also at its Prometheus site in New Albany, Ohio. One Meta worker told WIRED a mature cable-swapping system could eventually eliminate up to 80% of the workload in some technician roles. Everyone priced the chips and the megawatts. Nobody priced the labor inside the building. Read More

5. SpaceX's index weight doubled to 2.82% Friday — forcing $15.5–22B of passive buying. The Nasdaq-100 rebalance took effect Monday, September 21, one of the largest single-day programmatic flows of the quarter. It happened because lockups on August 6th and August 20th released more than 1.2 billion shares, and venture backers and long-term funds held — expanding float without triggering secondary selling. Q2 revenue was $7.81 billion, up 91.9% year-over-year. The holders who didn't sell are the reason index funds had to buy. Read More
